Today the Income Property Association of Kern released the full schedule for it’s 2019 California Landlord’s Summit on Homelessness. The event offers a full program for landlords and other rental housing professionals.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES

Eddie Turner serves as an Improvement Advisor for Built for Zero, leading the campaign’s work with communities who are in the final stages of ending homelessness. Previously Eddie worked at Habitat for Humanity International on volunteer strategy, redesigning global programs for sustainability and impact. Eddie holds a Master of Divinity from Yale University, where he studied social ethics and change movements. He freely admits that most of his ideas are lifted from Cornel West videos on YouTube.

Lahela Mattox is Grant Manager for the Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) within the Homeless Coordinating and Financing Council since August 2018. She is responsible for establishing and building relationships with local government representatives and administering the Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP). Ms. Mattox has more than 20 years of experience in direct services and program management in social services, mental health services, and other related fields, both in Hawaii and California. Most recently, Ms. Mattox was the Chief of the Certification Unit with the Department of Health Care Services, Mental Health Services Division, Program Oversight and Compliance Branch. She has spent her career working with some of the most vulnerable populations and is passionate about building partnerships and working collaboratively to build stronger communities. Ms. Mattox holds a Master of Arts-Counseling degree from Chapman University, Sacramento Campus and a Bachelor of Arts-Psychology degree from Hawaii Pacific University.

Debbie Ormonde is a prolific motivational speaker and coach whose enthusiasm is contagious. Currently, she resides in Bakersfield, California.  She received her Doctorate in Divinity from Summit Bible College and is the founder of Be Finally Free, Inc. Debbie has a notable 34-year background in the security industry where she managed, recruited, and trained staff and executives. Having a diverse perspective on life and many interesting experiences, Debbie left the corporate world in 2011, and has been following the path of her true passion and calling ever since: to inspire and empower individuals who have lost their way.  Her primary message is simple yet powerful and focuses on personal restoration, servant leadership, and on the crucial role that relationships play in life. Debbie has also taught various seminars throughout the United States and Internationally.

The Income Property Association of Kern exists to provide knowledge, networking, and resources that assist landlords in operating profitable and ethical rental properties. IPAK is a member driven trade association that engages in public affairs and government relations on behalf of owners, investors, developers, managers, and suppliers of rental homes and apartment communities.

The Second Annual California Landlord’s Summit on Homelessness will be held on June 20, 2019 from 8:00 am to Noon at the Bakersfield Marriott (801 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California 93301). It is put on by the Income Property Association of Kern with help from the California Apartment Association, The Kern County Superintendent of Schools, and The Housing Authority of the County of Kern.
